Skin food
Stubborn acne is annoying and irritating, at the very least. They just love your skin so much that they keep going back and infesting your face again and again. Many people have experienced this, and many a hair was pulled out in frustration.
However, the treatment to acne may not need to involve expensive dermatological treatments and various herbs to be put on your face like some kind of mask from Halloween season. The treatment, safe, inexpensive, and effective, is sitting right there in your kitchen.
You can think of food as the medicine to acne. Once you have discovered the benefits of eating the right foods to alleviate your acne conditions, you can say "good bye, and good riddance" to those acne.
Hippocrates said some 2400 years back that man should allow food to serve the function of medicines. He was right. Perhaps he knew that man would suffer from acne, that’s why he gave this tidbit of good advice.
Some foods are believed to be food for the skin. Once you feel that there are positive changes in your skin because of your healthy diet, your acne will go away. After all, acne can’t live in healthy skin.
The switches need not be drastic. A little effort over time can do wonders for your health, and most especially for your skin. You may want to try these food switches:
Don’t fry it, bake it. French fries have a lot of oil, which has an encouraging effect on acne. Try baked potatoes instead. This also applies to chicken. Instead of indulging in that tasty, oily fried chicken leg, bake it.
Brown beauty. Try incorporating brown rice into your diet instead of white rice. Not only is it healthier, it also reduces your intake of calories.
Green, not brown. Green tea has antioxidants that target your whole body, and that includes your skin. Coffee, on the other hand, can have adverse effects on your health.
Wholly un-processed. Don’t be tempted by the softness and the whiteness of the bread. Multi-grain and whole-grain crusty bread is much more healthy and can aid you in the battle against acne.
Don’t juice it, eat it. Fruit juices tend to lack the vitamins and minerals that are present in the whole fruit. Eat the whole fruit instead of just extracting its juice.
No more cereal. Oatmeal with nuts, raisins, and even chopped fruits is healthier, not only for your skin but also for your heart.
Save the cow. Try plant-based milk like soybean and almond.
Don’t scream "ice cream." Low- or no-sugar yogurt is a healthy alternative to ice cream. Instead of freezing that nth pint of the creamy, sinful delight, live healthy and eat yogurt.
Look, ma, no cavities. Candies are filled with sugar and these can be bad for your teeth. If you feel the urge to chew on something, chew on dry, roasted almonds and walnuts instead.
Everyday is Thanksgiving. Instead of grinding beef, grind turkey instead.
Ditch the deli. Have turkey or Swiss cheese instead of your usual ham and bologna.
Get white. Instead of consuming the whole egg, just pick out the egg whites.
Once you start eating healthy, your skin will reward you in ways you never dreamed of.
