Time-tested safe, natural treatments for acne

Acne can plague anyone. Men, women, teenagers and even adults can become subject to acne. It’s no wonder there is a lot of acne treatment in the market, each claiming to be effective. But take note that most of these treatments can take acne scarring away. Acne scarring is a condition caused by wounds or serious forms of acne. If you’re experiencing acne that just wouldn’t go away for many days, and you notice that marks are already forming, consider trying out natural treatments for acne scars. These are proven effective and safe because they were formulated from vegetables and fruits. What’s more, they can be prepared right in your kitchen.

Experts recommend a variety of natural treatments. Here are three of them:

Lemons - Citric acid is the major component of lemon juice. These acids are part of what is known as the AHA group, which has the function of renewing and regenerating the cells of the skin. Because of this property, it comes as no surprise that lemon juice works with lesions caused by acne. Through gentle and proper application to acne-ridden areas, the juice’s components will aid in removing old skin cells and promoting the growth of new skin. Additionally, it increases the elasticity of the skin without having to resort to dermatological solutions.

Before putting the lemon juice on, you must never forget to clean your acne scars with warm water first. When you have dried your face, dab a cotton ball on a small amount of lemon juice (preferably a teaspoon). Spread the juice over your scars gently, and don’t wash it off until after a couple of minutes (ten to fifteen is recommended). If you plan to go out of the house after you put it on, wear sunscreen. One of the effects of lemon juice is to make your skin sensitive to light.

Sandalwood - Many generations dating far back in history have been using sandalwood to treat scars caused by acne. To use this, prepare it by making a paste. Combine the sandalwood paste with rose water. Put the solution on the affected areas and leave it on until the next morning. After the prescribed period, wash the area with cold water.

You can also combine the sandalwood paste with black gram cream. However, if your skin dries out, add milk to the mixture. You will find that its positive effects are increased.

Tomatoes and cucumbers These fruits are rich in antioxidants that help remove toxins from your skin. It also renews and refreshes the parts of your skin, which have been damaged.

Tomatoes contain vast amounts of vitamin A, which regulates oil in the face by reducing it. Cucumbers help relieve skin irritation. They both have refreshing properties on the skin, and they help repair damaged skin cells. They also tighten the pores, thereby making your skin appear smoother and softer.

The mixtures discussed above are readily available and do not need much experience to make. These options are safe and of course, less expensive than your average acne medicines, which may even contain harmful or non-toxic chemicals. Try it! It works.
